How PRISM works

    Start with what happened.

You don't need to diagnose the tax problem before contacting us.

Tell us what's happening. We'll help determine what kind of work the situation actually requires.

    01

    Start with a conversation.

The introductory call is free. Tell us what brought you to PRISM.

Maybe you need a return prepared. Maybe something changed this year. Maybe you received a notice. Maybe you're considering a financial decision and want to understand the tax consequences first.

You do not need to know which service category fits. That's part of the conversation.

The introductory call is used to understand the situation and determine the appropriate next step. It is not a planning session, projection, return review, or substantive tax analysis.

    02

    We define the work.

Once we understand the situation, PRISM identifies the appropriate scope. That might be:

    • individual tax preparation
    • a tax position review
    • tax planning
    • a projection
    • notice support
    • multi-state work
    • a specialized tax question
    • deeper scenario modeling

The goal is not to sell the largest engagement. It is to identify the work the situation actually requires.

Where appropriate, the scope and pricing are communicated before substantive work begins.

    03

    We gather what matters.

PRISM collects the information needed for the engagement. That may include tax documents, income information, prior returns, transaction details, notices, assumptions, or other facts relevant to the work.

Existing clients should use the secure workspace for document exchange where applicable. Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents, account numbers, or other sensitive financial information through a general contact form.

    04

We do the work the situation calls for.

For tax preparation, that means preparing the return based on the applicable facts and documents.

For planning, that may mean understanding the year as it is developing.

For projections, that means modeling expected income, payments, and other relevant changes.

For a more involved decision, it may mean comparing multiple scenarios and identifying the assumptions that change the outcome.

Different questions require different levels of analysis.

    05

    You understand the result.

The work should not end with a number appearing on a screen. PRISM helps make the result understandable.

    • What happened?
    • What drove the number?
    • What assumptions mattered?
    • What was filed?
    • What deserves attention next?

The amount of explanation should match the engagement, but clarity should remain part of the experience.

The same process, at any level

The process stays simple even when the tax situation doesn't.

    1. Straightforward return
    2. Changed year
    3. Planning question
    4. Complex decision

PRISM does not begin by assuming complexity. We begin with the facts.

Then the level of work follows.

    Tax preparation starts at $175.

    Tax planning starts at $150.

    Introductory consultations are free.

More involved work is scoped according to the facts and work required.

The first step is the simple one

    Tell us what's happening.

You don't need to know the answer.

You don't even need to know which service you need.

Start with the situation. We'll help determine the next step.
